It’s an opportunity to talk about what you’re looking for, ask any questions you have, and for us both to get a sense of whether we might work well together.

If we decide to continue, we’ll agree a way of working that suits what you want from coaching. I often work with clients over four or six sessions, but the number, length and spacing of sessions can vary.

Effective coaching is something we create together. I’ll bring my attention, curiosity and readiness to challenge; you’ll bring a willingness to think, reflect and explore what you might want to change.

To help you decide whether you’d like to work with me, we can have a discussion of around 30 minutes about what has brought you to coaching and what you might like to be different. You can ask questions about coaching and about working with me.

Sessions are usually 60 minutes, although 90-minute sessions are also possible.
I often work with clients for either four or six sessions. That gives us enough time to explore what is happening, notice what changes and review how the coaching is working for you. But coaching does not have to fit a fixed formula, and we can agree something different if that would suit you better.

My standard fee is £100 for a 60-minute session. I also offer packages at a reduced rate:
Four 60-minute sessions: £300
Four 60-minute sessions: £300
Six 60-minute sessions: £450
Six 60-minute sessions: £450
These are my standard prices for individual clients. We can discuss other arrangements, including 90-minute sessions or coaching commissioned by an organisation, during our initial conversation.

“Setting clear goalposts and giving me actual feedback and tasks to work on between sessions worked really well. It gave me a bit of focus and structure when I was feeling a bit lost.”

If we decide to work together, we’ll agree what you want from coaching and how we’ll work together. That includes the practical arrangements and expectations that help create a clear, confidential and empowering coaching relationship.

That doesn’t mean you need to arrive with a perfectly formed goal. Part of the work may be understanding more clearly what you want to be different.

We’ll review how the coaching is working as we go. If it becomes clear that another form of support, such as counselling or mentoring, might be more appropriate, we can discuss that.
